The Econ-O-Ring is a single or double arched adjustable bricking machine. The machine has a unique adjustable scaffold system and has multiple hinged arch sections. This allows the ECON to be adjusted to many different diameter combinations within its range. The ECON was designed to be an economical version of the EOR model. Our primary customers are smaller kilns and refractory contractors. The ECON comes complete with an assembly guide and sizing chart to assist you in determining the proper arch sections and adjusting the scaffold to the proper bricking diameter. The ECON has 6"/ 150mm pneumatic cylinder stroke. It is manufactured out of lightweight aluminum and can be assembled in 30 minutes once inside the kiln. The ECON is constructed in small components and can be handled by two people. The machine is designed to fit into limited access kilns.
The Problem:
The three main goals when installing brick in rotary kilns is quality, safety, and speed of installation. Unfortunately, these goals can sometimes be conflicting. In addition, there are economic considerations when the machine sees limited use. For example, in the Lime Industry where kilns are not shut down as often as in the Cement Industry, a lighter duty machine is sufficient. For refractory contractors that service many different sizes of kilns, they need a machine that will service a wide range of kiln diameters.
The Solution:
The ECON insures quality with pneumatic cylinders assisting in the precise placement of brick. By using the pneumatic cylinders to hold brick in place, there is never any unsupported, unkeyed brick overhead. Ergonomic design reduces fatigue and with it the chance of mental or physical errors ending in an lost time accident. ECON's speed of installation is increased by the use of the double ring option that allows the second ring to be installed while the first ring is being keyed out. The ECON is an adjustable, economically priced, medium duty machine designed to service kilns from 8'-0" through 12'-0" inside brick diameter (2.4m through 3.7m).
Justification:
ROI due to savings realized by increased kiln uptime, reduced maintenance costs, and a reduction in lost time accidents. Typically this ROI can be realized in one outage. The ability to adjust from 8'-0" through 12'-0" inside brick diameter (2.4m through 3.7m) eliminates the need for a contractor or a plant with multiple kiln diameters to buy multiple machines.

The ECON is recommended for smaller diameter kilns with multiple diameters. It also offers a cost advantage for contractors who are working in many different kilns in the smaller diameter range.
