The
Expand-O-Ring-6 is a hybrid of the EOR-8. The
EOR-6 will function similar to the EOR-8 but it has less adjustment range
and the diameter range starts at a smaller inside brick diameter.
The EOR-6 machine has two different scaffold frames and has multiple hinged
arch sections. This allows the EOR-6 to be adjusted to many different
diameter combinations within its range. We make adjusting the machine
simple by supplying a EOR-6 sizing chart to assist you in determining
the right scaffold system, the proper arch sections, and setting all the
adjustment points to the proper diameter location. The machine is a double
arch machine, allowing for one row of brick to be keyed while the next
row of brick is being installed. The EOR-6 has 6"/152mm pneumatic
cylinder stroke. The EOR-6 is constructed with lightweight aluminum and
can be assembled in 45 minutes once inside the kiln. The EOR-6 is manufactured
in small components and it can be handled by only two people. The machine
is designed to fit into limited access kilns.
The Problem:
The three main goals when installing brick in rotary kilns is quality,
safety, and speed of installation. Unfortunately, these goals can sometimes
be conflicting. For plants with multiple sized kilns and contractors
that service many plants with different kiln sizes, buying a bricking
machine for each size kiln is not economically feasible.

The EOR-6 insures quality with pneumatic cylinders assisting in the
precise placement of brick. By using the pneumatic cylinders to hold
brick in place, there is never any unsupported, unkeyed brick overhead.

physical errors ending in an lost time accident. EOR-T6's speed of installation
is increased by the use of the double ring option that allows the second
ring to be installed while the first ring is being keyed out. This machine
has the capability to be adjusted from 8'-6" through 13'-6"
inside brick diameter (2.6 through 4.1m) eliminating the need to buy
a different machine for each size kiln.
Justification:
ROI due to savings realized by increased kiln uptime, reduced maintenance
costs, and a reduction in lost time accidents. Typically this ROI can
be realized in one outage. The ability to adjust from 8'-6" through
13'-6" inside brick diameter (2.6 through 4.1m) eliminates the
need for a contractor or a plant with multiple kiln diameters to buy
multiple machines.
