Bricking
Solutions also has refined hydraulic jacking equipment through finger
tip controls, pressure gauges and ergonomic design to help make the critical
keying process as error free and repeatable as possible. The pneumatic
shim driver and associated tools reduce fatigue and increase productivity
for the shim driving process. We developed the best product for driving
steel shims between key bricks and offer our custom shanks in all of the
primary shaft configurations.
The Problem:
The shimming between key bricks is the most common way of securing
each row of bricks into place. Most brick installation requires the
placement of special sized key brick, followed by inserting a steel
shim(s). It is most important that the proper shimming pressure is given
to maintain the radial integrity of each row. Over the years we have
observed many different methods of driving shims the most common of
which is by hand. It is difficult to hammer with a consistent blow,
the shims wander, bind and eventually fracture the brick.
The Solution:
To remedy the shimming problem, Bricking Solutions designed a shim
driving gun with steel shanks and shim driver head. By using our pneumatic
shimming gun by which you can control the force of the blow while keeping
consistent pressure on the shim being driven. The secret of our design
is in the shim driver head. The head is 5" long and fits onto the
shank. The face of the head has a 1/4" wide by 1/4" deep slot
that runs the length of the head. By sliding the slot over the shim
and activating the hammer, the shim can be driven rapidly and with great
control.
Justification:
-
Reduce lost time when bricks are damaged and need to be replaced
-
Reduces worker fatigue compared to manual methods
-
Ensures tight radial alignment of brick
Features:
-
Driver is fast, safe, and efficient
-
Slotted shim driver head allows for high impact on shim and ensures
tight radial installation
-
Variable throttle allows for smooth starts and powerful finish
