When installing brick, it is the final brick put in place to ensure tightness of the ring of brick in the rotary kiln.

Kiln

A large round steel pipe lined with brick with a burner device installed in the front end for the purpose of processing cement or lime.

Kiln Maintenance Costs

The cost to maintain a cement or lime kiln annually such as the cost of refractory, labor, mechanical and electrical systems, and lost production.

Refractory

Masonry of various chemical properties used to reflect heat.

Refractory Saw

A specialty saw used to cut refractory typically using a diamond blade using either a dry or wet process.

Rotary Kiln

A kiln specially designed for the cement or lime industry to rotate in the production process to mix the material and provide more unified heating. See Kiln.
