The installation of the Portasaw on the Bricking Machine platform can be advantageous since it will be closer to the work. Rebricking of large diameter kilns requires a high volume of cut brick for both keying and for cut rows. It is important in these kilns that a timely flow of brick to the key mason or the row mason is accomplished. The rate of installation is greatly reduced if this timely flow cannot be maintained.
A Portasaw fitted with a proper diamond blade can cut through up to 5 inch bricks with one pass. In addition, the Portasaw is compact enough to be set up on the Bricking Machine platform bringing the saw closer to the work for additional efficiency. Keying and cut rows are the critical path in determining the speed of refractory installation.
