In 1963 the company was founded in Ankara by Ali Rıza Toduk, who worked at Çitosan for many years.
The company served the industries, especially cement, minerals, iron and steel, petrochemicals, pulp, thermal power plants as Turkish representative of leader machinery and equipment manufacturers.
After the founder Ali Rıza Toduk passed away, the company moved to İstanbul and the name changed to ARTO (Ali Rıza Toduk) BETEKS.
The company paid special attention choosing the represented company to be not only a leading machinery supplier but also a problem solutions partner.
Recently emphasized on the usage of solid waste as alternative fuel in the cement industry.
In 2008, the company name changed to SOMER INTERNATIONAL (Somer İnşaat Dış Tic. Ltd. Şti.)
Mr. Ahmet Somer who joined the company as an Industrial Engineer in 1986, now owns the major shares of the company and acts as the General Manager. Mr. Ahmet Somer was born in Ankara in 1964. He is a graduate of Industrial Engineering, Middle East Technical University. Completed Marketing and Finance courses of California State University, Long Beach.
Mr. Zeki Altindag was born in Izmir in 1948. He has graduated from Naval Petty Officer Electronic School and completed Advance Control Electronic courses of Naval Electronic School, Treasure Island CA.
